Travel has shaped my life for as long as I can remember. As a child, I flew across the country, and many of my earliest memories are anchored in water—places where my mind quiets and time slows.
Over time, my travel style evolved. The turning point wasn’t a bigger itinerary—it was a better one. Moving from an underwhelming hotel to a well-run resort changed everything: the service, the atmosphere, the feeling of being genuinely cared for. From there, I became fascinated by what makes a journey feel effortless.
Italy became a touchstone—especially Rome and the Amalfi Coast—where getting lost on cobblestone streets often led to my favorite moments. Kenya broadened my worldview and deepened my commitment to traveling thoughtfully, with respect for place and people. One conversation with a sommelier sparked a lifelong love of wine that ultimately led me to pursue formal sommelier training.
After decades in executive leadership, I stood on a balcony overlooking Lake Como, already planning what was next. In that quiet moment, I realized planning wasn’t the distraction—it was the creative outlet. What felt heavy was carrying the entire mental load alone.
Maven Curated Journeys is my answer: a way to design travel with both heart and structure—so you stay in control of the vision, without carrying the decision fatigue.
